Friends of Roots helps participants experience their roots in China through education, family history research, and journeys to ancestral villages. Funds donated to Friends of Roots will be used for projects promoting the preservation of Asian American history and culture. Projects include:

• Laura Lai Community Scholarships for Roots: Him Mark Lai Family History Project participants

• Archive of genealogy research by program participants

• Community events and activities

Friends of Roots is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
